Join Hollywood Curling to ring in the new year with the Tournament of Rocks!

• Format: 2 bigs team. Big 10 Team vs PAC-12 Team (wear your gear to show off your favorite team!)
  
  
• Registration: Individuals or pairs. Up to 24 teams.
  
  
• Draw: 4 game guarantee, 8 games. Thursday 12/30 to Friday 12/31. First draw around 5pm Thursday, over by 7:30pm Friday.
  
  

Description: It’s New Year's Eve in Southern California and Hollywood Curling is hosting their own bowl game, The Tournament of Rocks. It’s BIG 10 v PAC 12. You can sign up as an individual or a pair and will be placed on one of the two teams (Continental Cup style). We’ll mix up the teammates each draw (pairs that sign up together will stay together). Each draw will feature different game types and opportunities for you to score points for your team. Come rock in the new year with Hollywood Curling!

Two Big Teams, Big Ten vs. Pac-12 (wear your gear and show off your favorite team!)
Four 8-End Games
Variety of Game Formats (standard, skins, etc...)
Dinner included both nights: pizza party on Thursday, and Mendocino Farms on Friday
First draw around 5pm on Thursday with last draw ending around 6pm on Friday. This will be followed by dinner, prizes, and a Newfoundland New Year's toast at 7:30pm to close out the event (meaning you'll have plenty of time to make it to your NYE parties!)

Note re: COVID-19 For this event, proof of vaccination is required for all participants. In lieu of vaccination proof, a valid negative PCR COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event start may be submitted, in accordance with LA County Health Department guidelines. Guidelines are constantly updating, and may change prior to the event.

I'M FROM OUT OF TOWN, Where should I stay?

While we work on partner hotels, you can check out the USA Curling Portal for IHG Hotels.​ Hotel Indigo and Commerce Casino are the two closest options. Otherwise, Downtown LA is full of a variety of hotel options and just a short trip to the center.

I don't have my own curling equipment, what are my options?

We have a pro shop with some items to purchase, like brooms, stabilizers, and grippers. Additionally, we have shoes, brooms, and stabilizers available for rent for the weekend. 

Will you have a bar?

Hollywood Curling will host a cash bar for this event.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Yes. Per LA County Health Department policies, masks are required in doors when not eating or drinking. This means you will need to wear a mask while playing in the ice shed, and while hanging out in the warm room. For more information on our COVID-19 policies click here.
